Buying guidance

How to Choose Xena Women’s Work Footwear

Women’s work footwear needs to fit the job and the person wearing it. Xena’s range brings together riding-style safety boots, Chelsea boots, zip-up boots, work shoes and athletic work sneakers. Start with the protection your workplace requires, then compare the fit and everyday details that make a pair work for you.

Choose your toe protection first

Nova, Valence, Gravity, Spice and Omega use steel safety toes. Horizon uses an alloy toe, while Luna has a composite toe. Rogue offers steel toe and soft toe versions; Astra offers composite toe and soft toe versions. A soft toe version has no protective toe cap, even when other workplace ratings are listed. Check the selected option before ordering.

Match the electrical rating to the job

EH and static dissipative footwear serve different workplace needs. Nova, Horizon, Luna, Spice and Omega carry electrical hazard ratings. Valence is SD35. Rogue’s steel and soft toe versions are EH-rated. Astra Black Silver is EH-rated; White Gold and Charcoal Gray are SD35. Gravity does not have a verified EH or SD rating in the current specifications. Follow your employer’s requirements rather than choosing by appearance.

Pick a shape that suits your day

Spice combines laces with a side zipper; Omega offers a zip-up boot design. Valence provides a pull-on Chelsea profile, and Gravity is a lower bootie. Nova’s taller riding profile and Horizon’s 8-inch height offer different coverage. For a shoe or sneaker silhouette, compare Rogue and Astra. Boot height and closure describe the design; they do not replace a safety rating.

Check width and model-specific sizing

Nova, Valence, Gravity, Spice and Omega offer selectable Wide options. Choose Wide on the product page when that is the fit you need. Xena recommends going up at least half a size in Horizon, Rogue and Gravity. Other models have their own guidance, so use the fit notes on the individual listing and account for your work socks. For Nova, review the calf measurement chart as well as shoe size.

Separate waterproofing from water resistance

Luna is the waterproof option in this range. The other models are listed as water-resistant. Waterproof leather used in part of an upper does not automatically make the complete boot waterproof. Xena’s slip-resistance claims also vary: Luna, Rogue and Astra specify dry, wet and oily surfaces; the other current models specify dry and wet surfaces.

Compare the exact product before checkout

Puncture resistance is specified for Horizon, Luna and Astra; it is not a range-wide feature. Review the selected toe, color, width and size together, especially on Astra where color changes the electrical rating. The product listing is the place to confirm the exact combination before placing an order.
