Blank Hoodies

Best Blank Hoodies for Company Logos & Work Crews

We have decorated heavyweight hoodies for years. Here is why the IND4000 and IND5000P remain two of our go-to blanks for company logos, work crews, and bulk apparel orders.

Best Blank Hoodies for Company Logos & Work Crews

There are cheap blank hoodies, and then there are blank hoodies you are willing to put your company logo on and hand to an employee.

Those are not always the same hoodie.

Before MEM Supply grew into workwear, safety gear, boots, gloves, and equipment for crews, we were already decorating apparel for local businesses through MEM Custom Apparel. Over the years, two heavyweight hoodies have become repeat favorites in our shop: the Independent Trading Co. IND4000 Heavyweight Hoodie and the Independent Trading Co. IND5000P Legend Heavyweight Hoodie.

We have worked with both under a heat press, and they keep earning their way back into the conversation because they feel substantial, present well, and give us the kind of surface we want when applying a company logo.

So if you are trying to outfit a warehouse, shop, contractor crew, service department, delivery team, maintenance crew, or small business, this is the short version:

For most company hoodie orders, start with the IND4000.

If you want the premium version—the hoodie employees notice the second they pick it up—look at the IND5000P Legend.

Need more than a few? MEM handles crew and bulk apparel orders, including heat-applied decoration. Tell us what you are trying to outfit, your estimated quantity, sizes if you have them, and what you want on the garment.

Why the Blank Hoodie Matters Before You Ever Turn On the Heat Press

A company logo does not magically turn a mediocre sweatshirt into good workwear.

When we decorate a hoodie for a crew, the blank garment matters just as much as the transfer.

You are putting three things on the line:

  • the company logo
  • the quality of the decoration
  • the garment employees are actually expected to wear

If the hoodie feels thin, twists after washing, has weak ribbing, fits inconsistently, or looks like promotional-event leftovers, the nicest logo in the world is still sitting on a cheap hoodie.

For company apparel, we care about the things that still matter six months after the order:

  • a stable surface for heat-applied graphics
  • substantial fabric that feels worth decorating
  • reliable construction
  • comfortable movement through a workday
  • a fit that works across a crew
  • colors you can build a uniform program around
  • a garment employees will voluntarily wear again

If you want the deeper breakdown of fabric weight, seams, hood construction, shrinkage, ribbing, and fit, read How to Choose a Heavyweight Hoodie That Actually Lasts.

Best Overall Blank Hoodie for Company Logos: Independent IND4000

If a company called MEM tomorrow and said, “I need 30 good hoodies with our logo on them,” the IND4000 Heavyweight Hoodie would probably be our first recommendation.

There is a reason we keep going back to it.

The IND4000 is made from 10 oz / 330 gsm 3-end fleece. Independent Trading Co. uses ring-spun cotton, and the core solid colors use a 70% cotton / 30% polyester blend with a 100% cotton face yarn. That cotton face gives the garment the smooth, stable exterior we want when working with heat-applied decoration.

It also has a generous fit, fleece-lined hood, ribbed cuffs and waistband, metal eyelets, a pouch pocket, and reinforced sewing throughout the garment.

Why we like the IND4000 for crew apparel

  • It feels substantial. This does not feel like a thin promotional sweatshirt.
  • The surface is decoration-friendly. The cotton face on the core solid colors gives us a clean surface for heat-applied graphics.
  • It works as actual workwear. It has enough weight for cool warehouses, shops, early mornings, delivery routes, and everyday crew wear.
  • The generous fit is practical. Employees have room to move and can wear a T-shirt or light layer underneath.
  • It hits a useful price-to-quality point. You can outfit a larger crew without immediately jumping into premium-luxury hoodie pricing.

That last point matters for bulk orders.

Buying one hoodie is easy. Buying 36, 60, or 100 of them means the difference between “pretty good” and “worth the extra cost” gets multiplied across the entire order.

The IND4000 is where we think that math gets interesting.

MEM pick: For most warehouse teams, contractors, maintenance departments, delivery crews, shops, and small-business uniforms, the IND4000 is the first blank hoodie we would price.

Shop the Independent IND4000 Heavyweight Hoodie, or send MEM a crew-order request if you need bulk quantities or heat-applied company logos.

Best Premium Blank Hoodie for a Company Logo: IND5000P Legend

The IND5000P Legend Heavyweight Hoodie is a different animal.

At 13.5 oz / 450 gsm, it is significantly heavier than the IND4000. Independent builds it from brushed-back 3-end fleece and uses a 100% ring-spun cotton face yarn on the main solid-color construction to create a stable printing surface.

The body and hood panels are cut cross-grain to help limit vertical shrinkage. It also uses double-ribbed side panels for movement, reverse coverstitch seams, a double fleece-lined hood, and extremely substantial 520 gsm ribbing at the cuffs, waistband, and side panels.

Translation: this thing feels expensive.

And sometimes that is exactly the point.

When we would choose the Legend

  • premium employee apparel
  • smaller company teams where garment quality matters more than lowest unit cost
  • foreman, supervisor, or leadership apparel
  • company anniversary or employee-appreciation hoodies
  • higher-end branded workwear
  • company merchandise employees might actually wear off the clock

If the IND4000 is the dependable everyday work truck, the IND5000P is the one you washed before taking the boss to lunch.

Still built to work. Just nicer.

MEM pick: Choose the IND5000P when you want the company hoodie to feel like something employees were given because the company values them—not because somebody found the cheapest blank in a catalog.

Shop the IND5000P Legend Heavyweight Hoodie, or ask us to quote it for your crew.

IND4000 vs. IND5000P: Which One Should Your Crew Use?

For most company uniform programs, we would start with the IND4000.

It is heavyweight enough to feel substantial, works well as everyday crew apparel, and leaves more room in the budget when the order starts multiplying across dozens of employees.

The IND5000P makes more sense when the garment itself is part of the statement.

Choose the IND4000 if:

  • you are outfitting a larger crew
  • the hoodie will be worn regularly at work
  • you need a strong balance of quality and cost
  • you want something substantial without going extremely heavy
  • you expect future replacement or new-hire orders

Choose the IND5000P if:

  • you want the most premium hoodie of the two
  • your employees work in cooler conditions
  • you prefer a heavier and more structured garment
  • the order is partly an employee gift or appreciation item
  • you are building premium branded apparel rather than basic uniform inventory

If you are not sure, that is exactly what the MEM Crew Orders process is for. Tell us the crew size, work environment, target budget, and what you are trying to accomplish. We can help narrow down the garment before you commit to a pile of boxes.

Are the IND4000 and IND5000P Good for Heat Transfers?

In our experience, yes. That is one of the main reasons we keep using them.

Both hoodies offer substantial fleece construction with cotton-rich faces on their core solid-color builds. A smooth, stable garment face makes logo placement and heat-applied decoration easier to work with than an uneven, excessively fuzzy, or flimsy blank.

But there is an important rule with any heat-applied decoration:

The garment, transfer material, temperature, pressure, dwell time, and artwork all have to work together.

There is no universal “hoodie setting” that should be blindly used for every transfer and every fabric color.

Follow the transfer supplier’s application instructions, pay attention to the specific fabric blend of the hoodie color you ordered, and test before running a large quantity.

That matters especially because heather, safety, camouflage, and other special colors can use different fiber blends than the core solid colors.

We would much rather test one hoodie than discover a bad process on hoodie number 47.

Why We Focus on Heat-Applied Decoration

MEM's crew-apparel approach is practical.

For the work we handle directly, heat-applied decoration gives us a flexible way to add clean company branding to hoodies and other crew apparel without turning the project into a giant promotional-products exercise.

Depending on the project and transfer system, that can work well for:

  • left-chest company logos
  • larger back logos
  • employee names or departments
  • small and medium crew runs
  • replacement pieces for existing crews
  • new-hire additions

We are not trying to make every square inch of a hoodie look like a race car.

For work crews, clean usually wins.

Best Logo Placement for Company Hoodies

Left chest

This is the safest all-around choice for company identification. It looks professional, stays visible under many safety vests and jackets, and does not dominate the garment.

Full back

A larger back logo works when visibility from a distance matters—service teams, contractors, delivery crews, field technicians, and companies that want their people easy to identify.

Left chest + back

This is probably the classic work-crew setup: smaller company identity on the front, larger identification on the back.

Before production, artwork size and placement should be confirmed on the actual garment. Hoodie pockets, seams, hood overlap, zippers, and garment size can all change what looks balanced.

Buying Company Hoodies in Bulk: Think Beyond the First Order

This is where ordering crew apparel becomes an operations problem instead of a shopping problem.

And operations problems are usually easier to solve before the boxes show up.

Before placing a bulk hoodie order, think about:

  • how many people are being outfitted
  • how many hoodies each employee receives
  • the size breakdown
  • whether employees will layer underneath
  • the main company color
  • logo location and size
  • new-hire and replacement inventory
  • future reorders
  • the date the crew actually needs them

Collect sizes before you place the order

Do not order a mountain of Large and XL hoodies because that “sounds about right.”

Get the actual size breakdown.

For physical work, also think about how the hoodie will be worn. Somebody wearing a T-shirt underneath may choose differently than somebody layering over thermals in a cold warehouse.

Order some spares when it makes sense

If the company is hiring regularly or the garment will become part of the standard uniform, keeping a few common sizes available can make future onboarding easier.

How many extras you need depends on the crew, turnover, storage, and budget. There is no magic percentage that fits every company.

Keep the program repeatable

One of the reasons we like using established Independent Trading Co. styles is that a crew program is easier to manage when you have a defined hoodie, defined color, defined logo placement, and known sizing.

Then when somebody destroys a hoodie, loses one, or hires three new people, you are reordering a known setup instead of reinventing the entire uniform program.

Do Bulk Hoodie Orders Have to Be Decorated?

No.

MEM can also help with ordinary bulk apparel purchasing when a company simply needs blank hoodies or workwear for a team.

If you need blank IND4000 or IND5000P hoodies in quantity, send us the estimated quantity and size mix through Crew Orders. Minimums and pricing can depend on the product and project, so we would rather look at the actual order than invent a fake one-size-fits-all bulk rule.

Why Bulk Orders Can Make More Sense Than Everyone Ordering Separately

For a company, letting 30 employees individually hunt for their own “black hoodie” sounds easy until 30 different black hoodies walk through the door.

A planned crew order gives you control over:

  • garment quality
  • logo consistency
  • color consistency
  • placement
  • fit expectations
  • reordering
  • who actually received what

It also gives you one point of contact when the project changes—which crew orders have a special talent for doing.

Someone always remembers employee number 31 after the order is “final.”

How Many Hoodies Should a Company Order?

Start with the actual number of employees who need them, then decide what the hoodie is supposed to do.

For a one-time company gift, one per employee may be enough.

For a true uniform or regularly worn work layer, you may want more than one per person so employees are not expected to wash the same sweatshirt every night like it is a restaurant apron.

Then consider reasonable extras for:

  • new hires
  • size exchanges before decoration is finalized
  • damaged or lost garments
  • future replacements

The exact quantity depends on the company. If you tell us how many employees you have and how the hoodies will be used, we can help you think through the order through our Crew Orders page.

What Is the Best Blank Hoodie for a Company Logo?

For most work crews, our answer is the Independent Trading Co. IND4000.

It gives us the combination we care about most:

  • heavyweight feel
  • decoration-friendly cotton face on core solids
  • comfortable generous fit
  • durable work-ready construction
  • reasonable cost for larger crew orders

For a premium program, the IND5000P Legend steps the garment quality up considerably with its 13.5 oz fleece, cross-grain construction, ribbed side panels, heavy ribbing, and premium finishing.

Neither hoodie is the cheapest possible blank.

That is kind of the point.

If you are going through the trouble of putting your company name on something, we think the garment should be worth putting the company name on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the IND4000 good for company logos?

Yes. The IND4000 is one of our preferred crew hoodies because its heavyweight 3-end fleece and cotton face on core solid colors provide a smooth, substantial surface that works well with the heat-applied decoration methods we use.

Is the IND5000P good for heat transfers?

Yes. The IND5000P uses heavyweight brushed-back fleece with a ring-spun cotton face on its main solid-color construction. Its very substantial build makes it especially attractive for premium decorated apparel. Always follow the transfer manufacturer's application settings and test the specific garment color and transfer before production.

Which is better for a work crew, IND4000 or IND5000P?

For most everyday crew orders, we prefer the IND4000 because it balances heavyweight quality with a more practical bulk-order cost. The IND5000P is our premium choice when garment weight, construction, warmth, and presentation matter more than keeping the unit price lower.

Can MEM Supply decorate hoodies with a company logo?

Yes. MEM handles crew apparel projects and can provide heat-applied decoration depending on the project. Submit the estimated quantity, garment needs, artwork information, and timeline through Crew Orders so the job can be reviewed before production.

Can I buy IND4000 hoodies in bulk without decoration?

Yes. MEM can help with bulk product purchasing as well as decorated crew orders. Send the quantity and size mix through the Crew Orders page and we can review the project.

Is there a minimum quantity for bulk or decorated hoodies?

Minimums can depend on the garment, decoration method, and project. MEM reviews crew orders individually rather than publishing one minimum that may not apply to every job.

Should company hoodies be heavyweight?

Not always, but heavyweight hoodies make sense when crews want more warmth, structure, and durability. For cold warehouses, shops, outdoor work, delivery crews, and regular employee wear, a quality heavyweight blank can be a better long-term choice than a thin promotional sweatshirt.

What is the best logo placement on a work hoodie?

A small left-chest logo is a common professional choice. A larger back logo can improve company identification from a distance. Many work crews use both. The best placement depends on the artwork, garment size, work environment, and whether the hoodie will be worn under a vest or jacket.

The Bottom Line

We have been decorating hoodies for years, and the IND4000 and IND5000P are still two of the blanks we trust enough to keep coming back to.

For most company uniform and crew orders, start with the IND4000 Heavyweight Hoodie.

For a premium company hoodie that feels noticeably heavier and more substantial, step up to the IND5000P Legend.

Need 12? 24? 50? More?

That is exactly the kind of order we want to talk about.

Visit MEM Crew Orders and tell us what you are trying to outfit. We can help with blank bulk orders, hoodie selection, sizing, and heat-applied company decoration depending on the project.
